Those kind, gentle Canadians have been oh-so-politely demanding a few heads on sticks ever since Rogers’ super-spendy iPhone 3G price plans were announced. Well, apparently their cries have been heard, and now Rogers is launching a promotional offer along with the iPhone of 6GB of data for $30 a month — not quite unlimited data, but close enough.

Well, not quite unlimited enough. A couple friends were planning to buy the iPhone on July 11, but Rogers had not released the plans yet. My friends figured it would be on par with AT&T’s pricing plans, but were shocked to see that 400MB plus 200 minutes talk and some texting would be $60. You’d need something like $100/month to get 6GB data.
6GB of Data + the base voice plan of $25 (including 911 fee and $8 “System Access Fee”) = $55. Then text messaging is another fee on top of that, then voicemail, and caller ID. You’re still looking at about $60/month.
